Work Environment

The physical therapy role is set in the dynamic environment of home healthcare, allowing you to work closely with patients in a familiar setting. This position offers a Monday to Friday work schedule from 9 am to 5 pm, providing a structured yet flexible work-life balance. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct initial and ongoing evaluations to assess patients' physical conditions, mobility, and overall function in accordance with industry standards and state regulations.
• Develop customized treatment plans that incorporate therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques, and modalities tailored to each patient's specific needs and rehabilitation goals.
• Implement treatment plans consistently while monitoring patient progress and making necessary adjustments based on clinical evaluations and patient feedback.
• Document patient interactions and progress meticulously in accordance with established documentation procedures to maintain compliance and ensure continuity of care.
• Maintain knowledge of best practices within the physical therapy field, and participate in professional development opportunities, workshops, and team meetings.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, and case managers, to coordinate comprehensive care for patients.
• Assist in creating an organized, clean, and efficient workspace that enhances rehabilitation efforts and patient engagement.

Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will work with a diverse patient population, including those recovering from orthopedic surgeries, musculoskeletal injuries, and age-related conditions. Your ability to adapt treatment strategies for different age groups and fitness levels, from post-operative patients to older adults, is essential for fostering effective recovery. As an advocate for patient-centered care, you will help individuals achieve their personal health and rehabilitation goals.

Qualifications

• A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program. Candidates with a Master's or Doctorate in Physical Therapy will be prioritized.
• Current, valid Physical Therapy license to practice in the state of Virginia.
• Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, including AED training.
• A strong sense of empathy and ethical practice in patient care, with the ability to motivate patients while maintaining a focus on their safety and progress.
• Proficiency in the use of physical therapy modalities, equipment, and best practices for safe application and maintenance.

Preferred Experience

• At least 2 years of experience in delivering physical therapy services, particularly in orthopedic rehabilitation settings.
• Experience in home health care is a plus, with an understanding of unique challenges faced by patients rehabilitating in their own homes.
