Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive preliminary interviews and document client cases, ensuring thorough records from initial consultation through the treatment process.

• Assess and evaluate clients’ mental, emotional, and behavioral health needs to inform individualized treatment planning.

• Create and implement effective intervention and recovery plans tailored for individuals, couples, families, and groups.
\n
• Facilitate engaging individual and group therapy sessions, fostering a safe and supportive environment for self-expression and growth.

• Regularly monitor client progress against treatment goals, adjusting strategies as necessary to optimize outcomes.

• Collaborate with fellow mental health specialists and healthcare providers to develop integrated care plans that address the full spectrum of client needs.

• Follow up with psychiatrists and attending physicians regarding clients who have been hospitalized, ensuring continuity of care.

• Recognize and address behaviors that hinder recovery, providing education and support to both clients and their families.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This role will involve working with a varied patient population, including individuals facing anxiety, depression, trauma, and other mental health challenges. You will engage with clients from different backgrounds, ensuring that your therapeutic approach is culturally sensitive and aligned with their specific needs. Qualifications\n

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Possession of a current and valid license as an LMFT, LPC, or LCSW in the state of Texas.
\n
• A successful completion of the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
\n
• Demonstrated proficiency with electronic health record systems, preferably AVATAR, to manage client documentation efficiently.
\n
• Strong foundational knowledge of mental health disorders, including co-occurring physical and emotional health conditions, and addiction issues.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, enabling effective interaction with clients and healthcare colleagues.
\n
• A deep commitment to ongoing professional development and adherence to American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) best practices.

Preferred Experience\n

• Previous work experience as a mental health counselor, particularly within a community health or clinical setting.

• Experience working with diverse client populations, with an understanding of the complexities that arise in mental health treatment.

• Knowledge of pharmacological treatments and their psychological effects, particularly for clients with dual diagnoses.
