Growing Concierge Medical Practice – Virginia Position Summary Growing Concierge Medical Practice – Virginia Position Summary A growing, concierge medical practice in Virginia is seeking an experienced physician to serve as a Part-Time Medical Director. This flexible leadership opportunity provides physician oversight for an expanding multi-site outpatient practice utilizing Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners in both clinic and telemedicine settings. The Medical Director will partner with executive leadership to ensure clinical excellence, support evidence-based practice, oversee regulatory compliance, and contribute to the continued growth and development of the organization. This position is primarily administrative and supervisory and does not require routine direct patient care. However, physicians interested in a more active role may elect to provide scheduled on-site clinical hours under a separate compensation arrangement. Estimated Time Commitment Medical Director responsibilities are expected to require approximately 6–12 hours per month , including: Oversight of collaborative practice agreements for Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners Periodic chart audits and quality assurance reviews Review, approval, and periodic revision of clinical protocols, standing orders, and treatment pathways Participation in one monthly executive leadership meeting Consultation regarding clinical, regulatory, and quality matters as needed Additional hours may be mutually agreed upon for special projects, protocol development, new service implementation, or practice expansion initiatives. Primary Responsibilities Medical Oversight Serve as the Medical Director for a growing outpatient medical practice. Execute and maintain collaborative practice agreements with Advanced Practice Providers. Conduct periodic chart audits and clinical quality reviews. Provide physician consultation regarding complex clinical questions when appropriate. Clinical Governance Review, approve, and periodically update clinical protocols, policies, standing orders, and treatment pathways. Promote evidence-based clinical practice and quality improvement. Support compliance with applicable federal and state regulations and accepted standards of care. Evaluate and provide guidance regarding new clinical services, medications, and treatment approaches. Leadership Participate in monthly executive leadership meetings. Serve as the physician advisor to executive leadership on clinical operations and quality initiatives. Support the continued development of standardized clinical pathways and best practices. Provide guidance on provider onboarding, clinical education, and practice development as requested. Preferred Qualifications MD or DO Active Virginia medical license Active DEA registration Board Certification in Internal Medicine strongly preferred; Family Medicine or another relevant primary care specialty will be considered. Experience supervising or collaborating with Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners. Previous Medical Director, Associate Medical Director, or physician leadership experience is preferred. Interest or experience in concierge medicine, preventive medicine, health optimization, outpatient medicine, telemedicine, metabolic health, or hormone management is advantageous but not required. Compensation Competitive monthly retainer commensurate with experience and scope of responsibilities. Physicians interested in additional involvement may elect to provide scheduled on-site clinical services under a separate compensation arrangement.
