Accounting Manager

Accounting ManagerOur company is seeking an accounting manager to oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable functions. Primary responsibilities include ensuring accurate, timely financial transactions, maintaining strong internal controls, and managing accounting staff.Leadership & Team ManagementSupervise, mentor, and develop a team of approximately five accounting professionalsAssign and review work to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to deadlinesFoster a collaborative and accountable team environmentAccounts Payable (AP) OversightManage the full-cycle accounts payable process, including invoice processing, approvals, and disbursementsEnsure timely and accurate vendor paymentsMaintain vendor relationships and resolve discrepanciesAccounts Receivable (AR) OversightOversee billing, collections, and cash application processesMonitor customer accounts to ensure timely payments and minimize delinquencyPartner with internal teams to resolve billing issuesFinancial Controls & ReportingMaintain and strengthen internal controls over AP and AR functionsAssist in month-end and year-end close processes related to AP/ARCollaborationWork closely with the controller and other departments to ensure alignment with company goalsSupport audits and provide documentation as requiredSupport implementation of new systems or workflows as neededTravel RequirementsTraining will involve at least one trip to Minnesota. All expenses covered by the company. No ongoing travel requirements outside of initial training.QualificationsBachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field5+ years of accounting experience, with strong exposure to AP and AR functionsPrior supervisory or team leadership experienceStrong understanding of accounting principles and internal controlsExcellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skillsHigh attention to detail and accuracyAdvanced skills in Microsoft ExcelExperience with Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 is a plusBenefitsAviagen provides a comprehensive benefits package designed to support the healthcare and financial well-being of our employees.
