About the Role
The Company is seeking a VP, Medical Strategy Director to join their mission of making healthcare more human. The successful candidate will be a scientific storyteller, turning data into direction and evidence into inspiration, and will lead medical strategy across various brands and therapeutic areas. This role requires a deep understanding of promotional healthcare communications and the ability to connect clinical evidence to human insight. The VP, Medical Strategy Director will be a strategic leader, defining scientific narratives, and shaping positioning and messaging. They will also be a creative partner, working closely with creative and brand strategy teams, and a trusted client advisor, engaging with senior-level clients to navigate complex scientific and commercial challenges. Applicants for this role at the company should have an advanced scientific degree and at least 10 years of experience in pharmaceutical advertising, healthcare communications, or related healthcare marketing environments. The ideal candidate will have a significant agency background, experience in new business pitches, and a proven track record of partnering with creative, strategy, and account teams to develop breakthrough work. Strong presentation, storytelling, and facilitation skills are essential, as is the ability to simplify complex science into clear, compelling strategic direction. The role also involves mentoring and developing talent, and experience in rare disease, oncology, immunology, neuroscience, infectious disease, or specialty care categories is a plus.
