Sous Chef

Location 7825 W Alameda Ave,Lakewood, CO, 80226,United States Base Pay $24.00 - $26.00 / Hour Employee Type FT Non-Exempt Village at Belmar, Lakewood’s premier senior living community, is seeking a skilled Sous Chef to join our on‑site, from‑scratch kitchens. In this role, you will prepare and cook made‑to‑order meals for residents and guests while supporting the Executive Chef in leading and mentoring the kitchen team, especially in their absence. Benefits 3 weeks of paid time off a year Medical insurance including vision and dental 100% employer paid life and long‑term disability insurance Accident and short‑term disability insurance 401(k) with employer match Sunny Day emergency savings account with employer match Duties and Responsibilities Prepare all food according to the menu under the direction of the Executive Chef Assumes responsibility for total kitchen operations when Executive Chef is not present Ensure proper preparation, portioning, and serving of foods according to standardized recipes Communicates frequently and professionally with other line cooks, chef, managers, and front of house team members Assists in coordinating prep for the following day’s menu Assists in training new employees Assists in creation of menus and ordering food and kitchen supplies Adheres to all safety and sanitation standards Ensures all food in refrigerator, freezer, and dry storage are labeled and dated Qualifications Requires knowledge of special diets Due to the nature of the work performed by Ascent Living Communities, and that this position works with a vulnerable population, we do require a criminal background check be completed #J-18808-Ljbffr Kids for the Future
