We are looking for a dependable Payroll Clerk to support a busy construction and contractor operation in Morrisville, North Carolina. This Long-term Contract position is ideal for someone who can step into a fast-paced, high-volume payroll environment, stay organized with detailed administrative work, and contribute with minimal ramp-up time. The role focuses on accurate payroll processing, strong data entry discipline, and consistent support for a team managing payroll across multiple entities.

Responsibilities:
• Process payroll accurately and on schedule for a large employee population across multiple company entities.
• Enter, review, and maintain payroll information in Sage 100 while ensuring records remain complete and up to date.
• Handle full-cycle payroll tasks, including earnings, deductions, adjustments, and garnishment administration.
• Verify timesheets, payroll inputs, and supporting documentation to reduce errors and maintain compliance.
• Assist with high-volume manual payroll activities in an environment that relies on substantial data entry and paper-based records.
• Provide day-to-day payroll support to the payroll lead and help maintain continuity when coverage is needed.
• Research discrepancies, resolve payroll issues promptly, and communicate clearly with internal stakeholders regarding pay-related questions.
• Support payroll documentation, filing, and related administrative activities for construction and warehouse-based operations.• At least 3 years of payroll experience, including hands-on involvement with full-cycle payroll processing.
• Prior experience using Sage 100, ideally in a payroll or accounting support setting.
• Strong data entry accuracy and the ability to manage repetitive, detail-heavy tasks with consistency.
• Experience processing payroll for workforces ranging from approximately 101 to 500 employees.
• Working knowledge of payroll deductions, garnishments, and standard payroll compliance practices.
• Background in construction, contractor, warehouse, or similarly operational environments.
• Ability to learn quickly, take direction well, and remain dependable in an onsite role.
