The Staff Accountant reports to the Controller overseeing Hotel Drover.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Embody the values + guiding principles of Hotel Drover
• Ability to manage multiple functions and deliver results in a demanding, fast paced environment
• Adherence to all policies stated in the team member handbook.
• Review and oversee the daily audits and the preparation of the daily revenue journal.
• Analyzes various balance sheet accounts, prepares lead schedules, and records necessary adjustments.
• Analyzes and records necessary accruals to reflect accurate liabilities for an accounting period.
• Participates in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual tax returns.
• Prepare journal entries essential to building an accurate general ledger reflecting all internal and intercompany transactions for each business unit
• Reconcile all balance sheet accounts, bank accounts, vendor accounts, and customer accounts in accordance with departmental policy
• Prepare monthly reconciliations of Intercompany related party receivables and payables
• Assist in the preparation and analysis of monthly financial statements and reporting package for all Hotel Drover managed business units
• Assist in the coordination of and preparation for financial audits as required
• Assist in the creation of budget reports and in preparation of annual budgets
• Ensure the confidentiality and security of all financial and employee files
• Assist in the execution and implementation of various financial projects and system initiatives
• Work with all business partners to streamline the business and management
• Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Skilled in spreadsheet and word processing software.
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from Accredited College or University Preferred
• Minimum of three (3) years of accounting experience in hospitality environment, or large regional CPA accounting firm
• Excellent strategic, analytical, and creative thinking aptitude in both an independent and team environment.
• Intermediate understanding of GAAP accounting
