Cook Supervisor

Morrison Healthcare is hiring immediately for a full time Cook Supervisor position. The location is Atrium Health Main, 1000 Blythe Boulevard, Charlotte, NC 28203. Two to four years of previous kitchen experience is required. Previous supervisory experience is preferred. Perks include vacation accrual beginning day one, an alternating weekend schedule, a free shift meal, and opportunity for growth. The fixed pay rate is $21.06 per hour.

Job Summary

Summary: Directly supervises food-service associates in accordance with policies, procedures and applicable laws. Essential duties and responsibilities include:

• Training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
• Advising management of purchasing requirements with a focus on minimizing waste and avoiding product shortages.
• Using approved food recipes and production standards to ensure proper quality, serving temperatures and standard portion control.
• Operating and cleaning equipment in accordance with department procedures after each use.
• Storing, labeling and dating food items according to policy; maintaining established food rotations in storage in order to minimize spoilage and waste.
• Following HACCP guidelines to ensure quality and safety of food supply.
• Operating food-service equipment in a safe manner and according to established policies and procedures.
• Helping serve meals; remaining present during scheduled meal periods to receive customer comments and feedback.
• Performing other duties as assigned.
