As a Clinical Technician, you will be one of the most consistent supports in a client’s recovery journey—helping create the safety and structure that makes healing possible in a trauma-informed residential setting. What You’ll Do Provide daily supervision and support to clients in residential treatment Be a calm, consistent presence across assigned shifts Help clients navigate daily routines with dignity and encouragement Observe and document client behavior objectively and professionally Respond to conflict or crisis using trauma-informed de‑escalation techniques Collaborate with counselors, nurses, peer support staff, and leadership Support medication call times and access to medical services Uphold program structure, safety standards, and professional boundaries Trauma‑Informed Care at Harbor House At Harbor House, trauma‑informed care means: Communicating respectfully—even during difficult moments Understanding behavior as communication, not defiance Avoiding power struggles while maintaining accountability Providing consistency, predictability, and emotional safety Clinical Technicians are essential to creating this environment. Requirements What We’re Looking For Required Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to remain calm, alert, and professional in a residential setting Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays Preferred Qualifications: One (1) year of experience in behavioral health, substance use treatment, mental health, residential care, or corrections College-level coursework in human services or related fields CPR and Non-Violent Crisis Intervention certification (or willingness to obtain during onboarding) The above statements describe the general nature of the work being performed.
