About the Role

The Company is seeking a VP, Business Development to play a pivotal role in supporting capital raising and investor relations. The successful candidate will be responsible for expanding and executing fundraising efforts, particularly for the Financial Institutions investment strategy. This strategy focuses on raising investor capital to support debt lending to financial institutions, with the aim of scaling water and sanitation microlending. The role involves managing the full sales cycle, from targeting to closing, and requires a deep commitment to using the capital markets to address global challenges such as inequality, climate change, and the water crisis. The VP will work closely with the IR team to prepare various marketing and due diligence materials, as well as represent the company at industry conferences. Collaboration with the parent organization to raise awareness of the global water crisis is also a key aspect of the role. Candidates for the VP, Business Development position at the company should have a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and at least 5 years' of experience in business development, fundraising, or investor relations. Familiarity with alternative investment products, particularly those related to emerging markets private debt and evergreen funds, is preferred. The role requires excellent communication, organizational, and project management skills, as well as the ability to engage with a diverse set of investors. A strong network of industry contacts, particularly in the impact investing space, is a plus. The ideal candidate will be adept at working in a dynamic, start-up culture, and be comfortable with remote work and proactive communication. A passion for impact investing and international development, as well as the ability to travel as needed, are essential.
