Role Responsibilities
- Conduct patient evaluations spanning pediatric, adult, and geriatric clients through standardized assessments and observational techniques.
- Create individualized treatment strategies targeting immediate goals while also addressing long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing challenges.
- Deliver dedicated speech therapy sessions that focus on enhancing communication, language, fluency, voice modulation, and swallowing skills.
- Engage collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, including physical and occupational therapists, nurses, and physicians, to formulate comprehensive and effective care plans.
- Educate patients and families to bolster progress beyond the therapy environment.
- Participate in occasional inpatient evaluations and therapies, ensuring consistent care and progression throughout the treatment continuum.
- Document all findings and interventional strategies with accuracy and in accordance with state, federal, and organizational guidelines.
- Pursue ongoing professional development through continued education and peer collaboration.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology accredited by a recognized institution.
- Successful completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if ASHA certification is pending.
Licenses and Certifications
- Current state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
- Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification to be completed within the first month of employment.
