Job Opportunity – Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse – Ohio

Schedule: Rotating weekdays and weekends with rotating holiday coverage. Estimated patient ratios 1:4. Float capability required across multiple units within the organization as needed.

• Progressive Care Unit specializing in neurological care including stroke, craniotomy, CVA, traumatic brain injury, and post-neurosurgery patients
• Mixed patient population including medical-surgical and various neurological diagnoses
• EPIC electronic medical records system utilized throughout the facility
• Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Pharmacy, Rapid Response Teams, and Radiology
• Specialized procedures including TNK administration, lumbar drains, and EEG monitoring
• Adult patient population with consistent 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratios across all shifts

Requirements:

• Active RN license (compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission)
• Minimum 2 years of Progressive Care Unit (PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown) experience required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications required
• EPIC charting system experience required
• Nursing education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• Strong neurological nursing skills required including blood product administration, heparin protocols, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, craniotomy care, intracranial bleeds, post-TPA care, and traumatic brain injury management
• Proficiency with isolation precautions/PPE, oxygen administration, peripheral line care/management, and pre/post neurosurgery care
• Flu vaccination required (medical exemptions only)
• Two professional references required: at least one from a manager/director or formal leadership role; Charge RN acceptable for second reference

Additional Information:

Compliance Requirements: Strict compliance deadline of Tuesday prior to start date. Ohio fingerprinting must be completed immediately upon contract signing. Candidates unresponsive to credentialing requirements risk assignment delays or cancellation.

Fingerprinting: Candidates within driving distance of Ohio must travel to an in-state fingerprinting location as soon as possible after booking. Those at extreme distances will receive mailed fingerprinting packets requiring urgent completion.

Eligibility: Former employees eligible after 6+ months away from the facility. Current employees ineligible for travel positions. Local candidates accepted.

Time Off: Requested time off must be submitted with application and built into contract.
