Portfolio Analyst

We're working with a specialty lender in the renewable energy/construction industry that's hiring a portfolio analyst due to growth.

This is not a back-office role - you'll be directly involved in the flow of capital, working on active projects and real-time funding decisions. You'll gain exposure to how deals are structured, funded, and managed, with visibility into executive-level conversations in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. An ideal opportunity for an up-and-coming Analyst with a background in construction loan financing, looking to grow into an Associate-level role.

Location: Mission Valley
Comp: $70-80k + bonus & benefits

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Monitor a portfolio of active construction loans, ensuring projects are progressing in line with expectations
• Review and evaluate borrower draw requests (funding requests during construction) to determine if funds should be released
• Validate supporting documentation including invoices, budgets, and project progress reports
• Ensure funding aligns with loan terms, approved budgets, and project timelines
• Track project performance, including progress vs. schedule and budget vs. actuals, identifying delays or cost overruns
• Partner cross-functionally with borrowers, legal teams, and banking partners throughout the loan lifecycle
• Support the full deal lifecycle, including loan onboarding, funding, monitoring, and close-out activities
• Gain exposure to loan structuring, equity sources, and broader project finance dynamics

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field
• 1-4 years of experience in finance, credit, banking, FP&A, or public accounting
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with a high level of attention to detail
• Advanced Excel skills and comfort working with financial models and large data sets
• Intellectual curiosity and a desire to understand how deals are structured and executed
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
• Entrepreneurial mindset with a proactive, "figure it out" attitude
