Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Special Education, or Visual Impairments, active Teacher of the Visually Impaired certification and 1+ years Teacher of the Visually Impaired experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Make a meaningful impact supporting students with visual impairments in a rewarding, district-based role near Arvada, CO. This contract opportunity offers the chance to serve a diverse caseload, spanning early childhood through high school, for the 2026-2027 academic year. You'll work onsite across various schools throughout the area, guiding students to success through assessment, individualized educational planning, and specialized instruction.

Key qualifications and preferred experience:

• Active Colorado DOE certification with “Special Education Specialist – Visual Impairment (ages 0-21)” endorsement
• Master’s or higher degree in special education visual impairment or equivalent
• Experience supporting students from birth through age 21
• Preferred but not required: Orientation & Mobility (O&M) Certification

Role responsibilities include:

• Administer comprehensive vision-related and functional assessments
• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs tailored to each student’s visual and educational needs
• Deliver direct instruction in core and expanded curriculum for visually impaired, blind, and deaf-blind students
• Adapt classroom environments and materials for accessibility, ensuring optimal learning conditions
• Collaborate with parents, educators, and district staff to support student priorities and maintain regulatory compliance
• Communicate progress to stakeholders, aligning with district priorities
• Manage resource coordination and maintain accurate documentation

This full-time, Monday through Friday position (35 hours/week) starts July 31, 2026 and continues through May 26, 2027. Commitment to the entire school year is highly valued.
