Job Summary/Purpose

The Machine Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining the machinery. This role ensures that machines run efficiently, safely, and produce high-quality components according to specifications. The operator must be able to perform complete setups, conduct quality inspections, and make necessary adjustments to maintain production standards.

Key Responsibilities/Duties

Perform all machine operations, including complete setup, in accordance with company standards.

Set up and operate various machines (e.g., roll formers, press brakes, shears, punch presses) used in cable tray manufacturing.

Use measuring tools such as tape measures and micrometers to verify product dimensions and make machine adjustments as needed.

Identify and set up equipment, including jigs and fixtures, for specific machines and production runs.

Recognize and identify different types of materials used in production.

Understand and select the appropriate tooling for each machine; identify when tooling requires replacement or repair.

Keep tooling organized and stored in designated areas.

Perform quality inspections on finished products to ensure they meet specifications.

Lubricate machines, perform routine oil checks, and report any mechanical issues.

Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely.

Maintain a clean and organized work area.

Communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors to meet production goals and deadlines.

Adapt to changes in production schedules, tasks, or processes as needed.

Perform other duties as assigned to support production operations

Required Qualifications/Experience

High school diploma or equivalent

Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings

Skilled in using hand tools, grinders and precision measuring tools

Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety

Preferred Qualification

Previous experience operating industrial machinery in a manufacturing environment.

Exposure to noise, dust and metal particles

Conditions may be hot or cold depending on season and machinery
