Proof of the Pudding is seeking an Executive Sous Chef to provide culinary leadership to the Offsite Catering and Events Division. The Executive Sous Chef is a management position designed to enhance and amplify kitchen efficiency, menu creativity & design, and provide strong support in food preparations, production and on-site presentation. The perfect applicant has proven experience in high-volume catering, the ability to multi-task, and has a strong culinary background.

Be a main contact in the kitchen and provide leadership and mentorship to the kitchen staff

Assist as needed in the creation of prep lists, purchase orders, recipe cards, R&D, and order lists

Manages Off Premise Event Chefs (Serves as coach, mentor)

Schedules Off Premise Event Chefs

Recruits/Trains Off Premise Event Chefs

Prepares Event Books for Event Chefs

Prepares/stocks "crash-kits" for each event

Works with production staff to check/prepare carts

Reviews event book, staffing, venue directions/venue equipment with Event Chefs

Attends events providing guidance, training, extra hands to Event Chefs

Serves as Management presence for FOH and BOH at all times

Attends weekly Operations & BEO meetings

Partners with FOH Leaders to conduct quarterly Event Chef/Event Manager training modules

Consistently works to find ways to streamline processes and improve quality, cleanliness and safety

Practices progressive discipline in coaching Event Chefs with guidance from HR Director

Attends Job Fairs and Industry Events to consistently recruit new talent and stay on top of trends in the marketplace

Works with Executive Chef and culinary team to produce and execute high-quality, fresh, cutting-edge catered events

5+ years in a leadership culinary role

Large scale catering experience is necessary, off-site catering experience preferred

Must be a chef who thrives on creativity, customer satisfaction and flavor profiles.

Must be a phenomenal team player.

Must have impeccable integrity for the business, the community and the Proof of the Pudding Team.
