Job Description and Duties

This position is located at the DMV Headquarters in Sacramento.

DMV's Information Systems Division (ISD) is seeking an innovative individual to serve as the Information Technology (IT) Analyst in the Business Services Salesforce Group. The Technical/Systems Analyst will support DMV's EPN/RAP/CRIMS/CHAP/Other related modern application needs. Under the general direction of the Information Technology Manager I, the Information Technology Specialist I will function as a technical/business lead analyst for complex enterprise applications and information systems. The primary duties lie within the Business Technology Management, IT Project Management, and Software Engineering domains of the classification and include the analysis and evaluation of business systems, gathering and documenting of the requirements and design. The incumbent will be required to use the department's requirements management tool to document, track, and ensure requirements are successfully tested. The IT Specialist is responsible for ensuring that IT projects are undertaken with clear business objectives, customer needs are met, departmental standards are followed, and project milestones and deliverables are accomplished. The analyst will provide leadership, input, and assistance throughout the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) of waterfall and Agile projects. The IT Specialist will create Integration Test (IT) plan, perform integration testing, report defects, work with developers and testers to resolve issues, monitor activities and provide regular status updates.
