Key Responsibilities

As an Orthopedic Physical Therapist, your daily activities will include:

• Conducting thorough evaluations of patients, including reviewing medical history, performing specific assessment techniques, and developing personalized treatment plans that highlight goals and benchmarks for success.
• Implementing evidence-based treatment protocols while adjusting care strategies according to each patient's progress and response to therapy.
• Documenting patient care activities meticulously, including legible daily encounter notes, interim progress summaries, and accurate discharge evaluations that provide a clear picture of the patient's entire course of care.
• Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, communicating effectively with physicians, co-workers, patients, and their families regarding the patient's progress and any needed adjustments in treatment.
• Ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, participating in required training, and maintaining certification requirements including the American Heart Association's BLS for Healthcare Providers.
• Facilitating discharge planning, ensuring patients have a clear understanding of post-therapy care and follow-up appointments.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The Orthopedic Physical Therapist will focus primarily on patients recovering from orthopedic injuries, surgeries, and conditions related to musculoskeletal health. This includes working with individuals of all ages dealing with post-operative rehabilitation after joint replacements, sports injuries, and chronic pain management. Qualifications

The ideal candidate must possess:

• A Doctorate Degree in Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited program.
• A valid physical therapy license in the state of Virginia as required.

Preferred Experience

While a minimum of two years of relevant experience in orthopedic physical therapy is required, preference will be given to candidates with specialized certifications or experience in advanced therapeutic techniques such as manual therapy, functional movement screening, or sports rehabilitation.

Compensation and Benefits
