Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive crisis assessments and intervention strategies for individuals experiencing urgent mental health emergencies in a timely and empathetic manner.

• Maintain a responsive and accessible support system for clients, ensuring immediate and ongoing counseling services are provided.

• Collaborate with law enforcement and emergency personnel effectively to protect the safety of clients in crises.

• Offer follow-up care after initial interventions, providing clients with tailored recommendations and resources, including referrals to appropriate support services.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The primary focus of your work will be clients undergoing mental health crises resulting from addiction, trauma, or emotional distress. We serve a diverse population in Hempstead and surrounding areas, emphasizing cultural sensitivity and awareness in all interactions. You will support individuals grappling with substance misuse, and emotional crises requiring immediate attention and stabilization. Your empathetic approach and clinical expertise will be crucial in establishing meaningful therapeutic partnerships that lead to healing and recovery.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from an accredited institution or university.

• Active and valid LMHC licensure in New York State.

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in mental health counseling, specifically within crisis intervention or emergency mental health services.

• In-depth knowledge of ethical and legal standards related to mental health counseling.

Compensation and Benefits\n
