Medical Technologist / Medical Laboratory Technician

This is a 13-week contract position.

Days, 3x12 hour shifts. Rotate weekends (usually every 5th weekend); no call. Fill in Thursday night shift and can pick up vacancies if not filled with regular staff.

A critical access hospital in Lincoln, Maine is seeking a qualified Medical Technologist (MT) or Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) for a 13-week assignment. The ideal candidate must be proficient in various laboratory procedures and able to work independently.

Responsibilities:

• Perform microbiology testing including gram stains, planting cultures, and blood cultures.
• Conduct blood bank testing.
• Proficiently perform phlebotomy tasks.
• Adhere to Covid regulations including proper use of PPE and isolation procedures.
• Multitask and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Work holidays as needed on a rotating basis.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• Graduation from an approved program in Medical Technology or Medical Laboratory Technology.
• Microbiology experience preferred.
• Must be able to work alone and communicate proficiently.
