Business Analyst

As part of our client's film group, this position is responsible for delivering design solutions to key business initiatives; provide support to application issues on a day-to-day basis; innovate, design, and implement software solutions within company standards; and collaborate effectively with the our client's business team, the other IT cross-functional teams and business units to provide expert system development life cycle support. Responsibilities will include:

o Lead the requirements analysis/gathering, business process definition and design sessions with the business stakeholders to deliver new functionalities
o Create functional and high-level technical designs based on business requirements which includes "As Is" and "To Be" workflows, use case specification, screen and high level conceptual table design, test plans and other established documentation
o Create functional and technical designs for system interfaces that use the ETL (Extract-Transform-Load) tool Informatica
o Collaborate with the client team (project managers, analysts, developers) to ensure that the functional and technical specifications are correctly translated into application code for an efficient system development lifecycle
o Participate in peer design reviews to ensure that the design is complete and up to the team's standards
o Work independently to review the system documentation and learn the existing functionality
o Create and execute test plans
o Provide expert trouble-shooting capabilities to assess, identify, test, and resolve reported application issues for daily production support of the application
o Coordinate with other IT project teams within the organization to design new automated interfaces with upstream/downstream source systems and provide support for the existing interfaces
o Provide training, support and guidance to the user community on application features and enhancements
o Work closely with the director and project managers to establish project scoping, prioritization and provide regular project status

Required Skills & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree preferably in BSCS, BS MIS, BS CIS or equivalent experience
- Minimum 5 years of systems analysis, functional and technical design experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience with custom internal applications
- Minimum 2 years of experience designing custom system interfaces built to run using the ETL tool Informatica
- Experience designing screens and other front-end graphical user interfaces (GUI) for a web-based application via tools such as MS Visio
- Proven experience gathering and documenting business requirements, writing use cases, creating workflows, business rules, technical specifications and test plans
- Demonstrated experience and understanding of the full system development life cycle
- Excellent written and oral communications "ability to communicate to all levels of the organization, both business and IT.
- Proficient in creating and executing manual test cases
- Work in a fast paced environment with aggressive deadlines
- Strong problem solving, analytical, design and testing skills
