Hueman is hiring an Accounts Payable Specialist on a 3-month contract in Lafayette, IN.

Schedule: Full-Time

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Payable Specialist for a 3-month contract opportunity in Lafayette, IN. This individual will be responsible for processing invoices, reconciling vendor accounts, resolving payment discrepancies, and supporting daily accounting operations.

The ideal candidate will have prior accounts payable experience, strong Excel skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process and verify vendor invoices for accuracy, proper approvals, and timely payment.

  • Perform two-way and three-way matching of invoices, purchase orders, and receiving documents.

  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve billing or payment discrepancies.

  • Assist with weekly payment processing, including ACH, checks, and wire transfers.

  • Maintain accurate accounts payable records and vendor information.

  • Respond to vendor inquiries and resolve outstanding payment issues.

  • Monitor accounts payable aging reports and follow up on outstanding invoices.

  • Support month-end closing activities, account reconciliations, and reporting.

  • Collaborate with purchasing, operations, and accounting teams to ensure accurate invoice processing.

  • Ensure compliance with established accounting procedures and internal controls.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of accounts payable or related accounting experience preferred.

  • Experience processing invoices and reconciling vendor accounts.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting/ERP systems.

  • Familiarity with SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar systems preferred.

  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and accuracy.

  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

  • Experience in a high-volume accounts payable environment is a plus.
