Pantry Manager Reports to: Associate Director Classification: Part-Time, Non-Exempt Schedule: 12 hours/week (Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays) Location: On-site Salary: $20/hour About Operation Hope-North County Operation HOPE–North County serves as an initial point of entry into the San Diego County Homelessness Continuum of Care. Our services are intended to provide temporary support and bridge housing for families with children and single women experiencing homelessness or at imminent risk of homelessness. Through shelter, case management, and supportive services, we help clients overcome barriers and work toward long-term housing stability. We are seeking a compassionate, dependable, and organized Pantry Manager to support the daily operations of Pantry of HOPE and assist with New Beginnings Boutique coordination. This role plays a key part in ensuring community members and shelter residents have access to food, essential items, and a welcoming support environment. The ideal candidate is community-oriented, flexible, organized, bilingual (English and Spanish), and passionate about serving others. Pantry Manager Schedule Monday 10:30am - 2:30pm Tuesday 10:30am - 2:30pm Essential Job Duties Coordinate weekly food pantry preparation and distribution activities Pick up and transport produce and food donations from Feeding San Diego, North County Food Bank, and other community partners using the organization’s truck, as available Ensure food items are properly stored, rotated, stocked, and organized Monitor refrigeration and freezer storage to ensure food safety standards are maintained Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards throughout the pantry space Assist with unloading, organizing, and stocking incoming donations Ensure a welcoming and respectful environment for pantry participants Partner with the Community Engagement Coordinator (CEC) to support volunteer onboarding, training, and scheduling for pantry operations as needed Track pantry inventory and communicate supply needs as necessary Help maintain organization and cleanliness standards within the boutique Assist with preparing the boutique for weekly community shopping hours Support volunteer coordination and scheduling in partnership with the CEC Assist with organizing donated clothing, household items, and supplies Community & Client-Centered Responsibilities Maintain confidentiality regarding clients, volunteers, donors, staff, and organizational matters Interact respectfully and effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and experiences Demonstrate professionalism, healthy boundaries, and alignment with the organization’s mission and core values Support a welcoming, trauma-informed, and compassionate environment for all community members Assist with occasional meal pickups or donation pickups for shelter operations as needed Support occasional community events or outreach activities, as assigned Perform other related duties, as assigned Skills & Qualifications Strong communication and interpersonal skills Excellent organizational and time‑management abilities Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with a team Flexible, dependable, and adaptable in a fast‑paced environment Ability to prioritize tasks and maintain organization in shared spaces Comfortable engaging with volunteers, clients, and community partners Bilingual in English and Spanish (Required) Previous experience in food distribution, nonprofit work, community outreach, or customer service preferred Equipment Used Laptop/computer Wheeled carts and storage bins Company truck/vehicle Standard cleaning and organizational equipment Physical Requirements Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record preferred Ability to safely operate a company vehicle/truck for donation pickups and deliveries; ability to lift, carry, push, or move boxes and supplies up to 50 lbs; ability to stand, bend, and move throughout the shift as needed Preferred Qualifications High School Diploma or GED Experience working with diverse populations and community members experiencing homelessness Bilingual English/Spanish communication skills #J-18808-Ljbffr
