Legal Secretary Litigation (California)

Location: San Diego, CA
Schedule: Full-Time | MondayFriday, 8:30 a.m. 5:00 p.m.
Compensation: $30$40/hour, depending on experience (DOE)
About the Role
We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Legal Secretary to support our litigation team. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with a strong background in insurance defense litigation and construction defect matters within California.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, format, and proofread legal documents including pleadings, motions, and discovery
- Manage state and federal court filings , including e-filing procedures (CA state and federal courts)
- Maintain attorney calendars, deadlines, and docketing in compliance with court rules
- Coordinate service of process and filings
- Handle correspondence and maintain organized case files
- Provide administrative and litigation support in a fast-paced environment
Qualifications
- Minimum 5+ years of legal secretary experience in California litigation
- Strong knowledge of California and Federal court rules and procedures
- Experience with insurance defense and/or construction defect litigation preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and legal calendaring systems
- Excellent organizational, proofreading, and time management skills
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines with accuracy
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
