Staff RN - Med Surg Oncology

Job Overview Provides general nursing care to patients and families throughout the continuum of care in diverse, acute health care settings. The RN is accountable for the practice of nursing as defined by the Ohio Board of Nursing and delegates nursing tasks to licensed practical nurses (LPNs) and unlicensed assistive personnel (UAPs) using the criteria written in the Ohio Nurse Practice Act. Responsibilities Assessment/Diagnosis – Performs initial, ongoing, and functional health status assessment as applicable to the population and/or individual. Outcomes Identification/Planning – Documents planned nursing interventions to achieve outcomes appropriate to patient needs based on nursing diagnoses and collaborative problems. Implementation/Evaluation – Evaluates and documents response to nursing interventions and achievement of outcomes at appropriately determined intervals; revises plan of care based on evaluative data as part of a multidisciplinary team. Leadership – Actively participates in process improvement activities to achieve targeted measures of clinical quality, customer satisfaction, and financial performance. Operations – Focuses on safety, quality and efficiency in performing job duties in a High Reliability Organization (HRO). Qualifications Current Registered Nurse license from the State of Ohio in good standing. Current Registered Nurse license in good standing with a multi‑state compact state. BLS certification (Basic Life Support – American Heart Association). BSN required after 5 years of employment. Work Schedule Day scheduled, 36 weekly hours – Med Surg Unit 1.
