Job Overview Sign On Bonus Eligible Default Work Shift: Day (United States of America) Hours: 40 Salary range: $58.43 - $90.50 Schedule: Full Time Shift Hours: 8 Hour employee Department: Pulmonary Clinic (Rancho Mirage) Job Objective: Responsible for planning, organizing and directing the essential patient care functions of the clinic(s) in collaboration with leadership. May oversee various sites. Education & Licensure Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Master’s in Nursing (Required) California Registered (RN) license (Required) Basic Life Support (BLS) from American Heart Association (AHA) (Required) Experience Four (4) years of clinical RN experience in an acute care setting (Required) Preferred: Medical office experience, leadership experience Reports To Director, Chief Administrative Officer, Service Line Administrator Supervises Clinical and non‑clinical office practice staff Patient Ages Neonate/Infant, Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult, Geriatric Key Skills, Knowledge & Abilities Ability to communicate and teach effectively by using dynamic approaches Ability to delegate tasks effectively, optimize team productivity and ensure alignment with organizational goals and objectives Ability to lead by example, demonstrating integrity, transparency, and accountability in decision‑making and actions Competent in the Scope and Standards of Care for Nursing Professional Development Contributes to Maintaining a Healthy Work Environment Knowledge of evidence‑based nursing practice Knowledge of the special needs of the patient population served Possesses strong interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills Strong knowledge and clinical skills in critical care nursing Strong knowledge of healthcare and regulatory standards in order to meet training needs Written and verbal communication skills Core Responsibilities Demonstrates compliance with Code of Conduct and compliance policies, and takes action to resolve compliance questions or concerns and report suspected violations. Selects, trains, orients, directs, coaches, evaluates, and counsels staff. Evaluates leadership effectiveness and competence of supervisor, if applicable. Selects, develops and counsels employees consistent with Human Resources management practices. Under direction of leadership, plans, prepares, implements, monitors and controls the budget to ensure sound fiscal management consistent with the goals of the hospital. Adopts a total performance improvement approach to work that includes employee empowerment, managing with data, a philosophy of continuous improvement, a customer oriented attitude and a work methodology that minimizes error. This includes developing and maintaining quality‑monitoring systems in area(s) of responsibility. Reports performance improvement results and addresses any problems or issues accurately and timely. Participates in the development of tactical plan for the area(s) of responsibility. Implements operational changes to satisfy regulatory (local, state, national) requirements and maintains area of responsibility in a state of continual readiness for Joint Commission and DHS surveys. Implements policies, procedures, and directives as appropriate. Ensures a high level of employee, patient and physician satisfaction. Maintain positive relations with direct and indirect customers. Develops and maintains open, honest and mutually beneficial relationships with managers, staff, members of hospital leadership team, medical staff, and other hospital employees. Relationship will be maintained in a manner consistent with Eisenhower Medical Center’s mission values and codes of conduct consistent with Performance Excellence. Communicates closely with treating physicians keeping them informed of scheduling issues, any scheduling delays and patient care issues. Develops and maintains open lines of communication between the team members. Monitors clinic specific business metrics, works with clinic staff to maintain metrics at or above established division goals. Maintains survey‑ready clinics, compliant with JCAHO standards and state/federal regulatory bodies. Participates in Joint Commission inspections and other local and state regulatory inspection requirements. Selects, trains/orients, directs, coaches, evaluates, and counsels staff. Monitors daily scheduling for timely flow and reduced wait times. Monitors electronic medical records worklist and MyChart messages of all staff for timely response and follow up. Assists in patient care including rooming of patient, entering health information into EMR, administering injections, assist with exam or diagnostic procedure setup. Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and with EMC policies and procedures. Monitors to ensure lab quality checks are done daily including refrigerator temperature logging and eyewash checks per policy. Establish and maintain par levels of medical supplies. Ensures that staff consistently provides high quality patient care and/or other support services that are valued by patients, physicians and each other. Ensures National Patient Safety Goals are adhered to and works closely with clinical staff in compliance among all staff and physicians. Collaborates, plans and implements process improvement to maintain high customer satisfaction, with hospital quality staff and clinic division staff. Schedules staff to ensure appropriate coverage, including responsibility to float to other areas or “flex out” when needed. Monitors timekeeping system and minimizes overtime and penalties.
