Registered Nurse (RN) | Behavioral Health | Acute Unit

Location: Avera Behavioral Health Center – Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Worker Type: Regular. Work Shift: Rotating days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays. Pay Range: $32.50 – $48.50 per hour, based on experience. Position Highlights Eligible for a sign‑on bonus up to $15,000. Paid for every 3rd weekend and every other holiday (for nurses with 3+ years of experience). 18‑bed Acute unit providing safety and stabilization. Motivated to deliver high‑quality patient care in an energizing team environment. Responsibilities Provide patient care by reviewing physician prescriptions and delivering nursing care plans. Communicate the nursing care plan and pertinent information to the health‑care team and coordinate with other providers. Develop nursing care plans based on patient histories, physical exams, and assessment of psychological status and social factors. Teach patients, families, and friends about health conditions, medications, and self‑care skills. Evaluate patient progress against therapeutic standards and modify care plans as needed. Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy environment by following infection‑control policies, medication procedures, and controlled substance regulations. Document patient care services through charting in patient and departmental records. Maintain patient care equipment, including troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and ordering supplies. Keep patient supplies stocked and available by anticipating needs and expediting orders. Maintain competence in nursing capabilities identified by leadership. Essential Qualifications Registered Nurse (RN) with active Board of Nursing license in the state of practice. Ability to work specified hours and perform essential functions, including visual acuity and effective communication. Reasonable accommodations available for individuals with disabilities.
