Coordinator III, Career Engagement & Outreach

PURPOSE AND SCOPE

The Coordinator III, Career Engagement and Outreach provides hands‑on support for student career engagement initiatives within the Industry Partnerships & Career Advancement office. This role serves as a key point of contact for students and alumni seeking information about career opportunities, employer engagement events, and career resources. The Coordinator responds to student inquiries, promotes career opportunities, supports marketing and outreach efforts, and assists with coordinating employer engagement activities. This position plays an important role in helping increase student awareness and participation in career programs and employer events.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Serves as a front‑line point of contact for students and alumni seeking information about career opportunities, internships, employer events, and career resources. Maintains accurate records of employer interactions, student participation, and event outcomes to support reporting and continuous improvement. Responds to student inquiries via email, phone, and online platforms in a timely and professional manner. Assists students with navigating career platforms and accessing job postings, internships, and engagement opportunities. Assists with tracking student participation and maintaining accurate records in career platforms and internal systems. Assists with employer outreach and engagement efforts, including scheduling, communication, and follow‑up with industry partners. Creates methods of evaluation of assigned area. Identifies opportunities to improve processes and enhance coordination across campuses. Provides logistical support for employer partnerships and career programming, ensuring smooth execution and positive participant experiences. Provides general guidance on available career services and employer engagement activities. Supports the use and maintenance of career platforms (Handshake or equivalent), including posting opportunities, tracking engagement, and assisting users. Supports marketing and promotional efforts for career events, employer opportunities, and engagement initiatives. Assists with developing and distributing promotional communications through email, digital platforms, and campus communication channels. Assists with coordinating career fairs, employer information sessions, workshops, and other engagement activities. Provides logistical support for special projects and employer engagement activities. May monitor and control resources such as office supplies and equipment needed within assigned area. Submits requisitions, and reviews and approves/denies purchase requests in accordance with the budget. Takes part in and/or leads special projects as needed. Responsible for other reasonable related duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL ABILITIES

The work is sedentary. The employee sits comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking, standing, bending, carrying of light items, such as papers, books, or small parts, or driving an automobile. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.

WORK SCHEDULE & CONDITIONS

Equipment used includes a PC workstation running on a LAN in a Microsoft Windows environment, calculator, phone and other general office equipment. Interface with internal and external contacts as needed to carry out the functions of the position. Work is performed in a climate‑controlled office with minimal exposure to safety hazards.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's Degree and at least 1 year of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
