We are looking for an Accounts Payable Clerk to join a non-profit organization in Fayetteville, Arkansas in a contract capacity with the potential for a permanent role. This position supports day-to-day financial operations by handling payment processing, maintaining organized records, and helping ensure accounting activities are completed accurately and on schedule. The ideal candidate brings strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while upholding established financial guidelines.

Responsibilities:
• Review invoices, purchase requests, and reimbursement submissions to confirm they meet organizational policies before payment is issued.
• Process vendor payments, travel reimbursements, purchase orders, and loan disbursement checks with a high level of accuracy and timeliness.
• Enter financial transactions into the accounting system and maintain complete electronic backup documentation for audit and recordkeeping purposes.
• Manage recurring monthly expenses such as rent, utilities, and other routine obligations to support uninterrupted operations.
• Record bank activity and assist with maintaining accurate general ledger support throughout the month.
• Prepare annual 1099 documentation and help ensure required reporting deadlines are met.
• Configure and maintain timekeeping system access, approval workflows, and related setup for employees, clients, activities, grant codes, and expense categories.
• Perform monthly travel expense compliance reviews and research discrepancies or issues that arise during normal business operations.
• Provide support to colleagues by answering finance-related questions and helping resolve administrative and accounting concerns as needed.• High school diploma required; a bachelor’s degree in accounting or CPA designation is preferred.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience in accounts payable, finance, or office/accounting support roles.
• Demonstrated ability to work accurately with numbers, reconcile financial information, and process accounts payable transactions reliably.
• Proficiency with accounting software, spreadsheets, and word processing applications.
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple deadlines independently.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills, along with the professionalism to manage confidential information with discretion.
• Valid driver’s license, reliable personal transportation for travel to project communities, and authorization to work in the United States.
