Registration Supervisor

Job Summary The Registration Supervisor oversees daily operations of patient access functions, integrating services with clinical and ancillary teams. The role establishes policies, monitors performance, provides staff orientation and education, and advocates for resources needed by the department. This supervisor promotes the Service Center’s mission to meet and exceed customer needs. Essential Functions • Manage day-to-day operations of patient access activities such as scheduling, pre‑registration, benefit verification, pre‑authorization, admission/registration, and benefits advising.

• Serve as the on‑site liaison between Corewell Health Business Services and the facility.
• Maintain positive relationships with facility management, physicians, and physician office staff.
• Coordinate with administration to manage revenue‑cycle performance expectations, including upfront collections, accurate data capture, timely registration, patient satisfaction, denial prevention, patient flow, and resolution of unbilled concerns.
• Review patient access performance to ensure timeliness, accuracy, compliance, and standards fulfillment per Service Level Agreements.
• Report significant issues to the Regional Patient Financial Services Director, such as registration delays or backlogs.
• Stay current on regulatory requirements and company compliance policies, ensuring timely staff education and supporting compliance with payer changes.
• Facilitate implementation and monitoring of standard policies, processes, reporting, and education programs.
• Oversee patient access personnel, recommending hiring, promotion, salary adjustments, and personnel actions as appropriate.
• Develop objectives, budgets, and performance standards for each responsibility area.
• Identify and implement process improvements to lower costs and improve services to facility customers.
• Conduct staff reviews, prepare performance documents, and maintain competency checklists and attestation forms.
• Actively seek cost‑control measures without compromising patient safety or quality of care.
• Attend mandatory education (infection control, patient safety, quality improvements, MSDS, OSHA standards) and demonstrate knowledge of the occurrence reporting system.

Qualifications Required: Bachelor’s Degree in business or related field. Preferred: Equivalent work experience may substitute the degree requirement. Required: Supervisory experience. Preferred: Certification as a CRT‑Revenue Cycle Representative (CRCR) – HFMA, with 180 days required.
