Business Development Senior Specialist - Litigation & Trial A leading global law firm is seeking a Business Development Senior Specialist to join its Litigation & Trial team in Chicago. This is a highly visible opportunity for a business development, practice development, or legal marketing professional who enjoys working directly with attorneys to drive strategic growth initiatives, market analysis, client development efforts, and thought leadership programs across a nationally recognized litigation practice. The position offers a hybrid work schedule and the opportunity to support a sophisticated litigation team through a combination of business development strategy, market intelligence, client research, and practice growth initiatives. The ideal candidate will have prior law firm experience supporting litigation attorneys and strong analytical skills. Job Duties: Conduct market, client, and competitive intelligence research to support business development initiatives Monitor litigation industry trends, market developments, and significant client and matter activity Analyze and report on competitive activity, business opportunities, market trends, financial information, and pitch activity Support the development and execution of strategic business development initiatives for litigation practice groups Assist with identifying opportunities to strengthen existing client relationships and pursue new business Collaborate with attorneys, business development professionals, and public relations teams on speaking engagements, webinars, and visibility initiatives Prepare reports, research, and analysis to support practice and client development efforts Distribute relevant industry, market, and client intelligence internally Help maintain and enhance the firm's knowledge of the litigation marketplace and competitive landscape Handle sensitive client, financial, and firm information with discretion and confidentiality Qualifications: Bachelor's degree required Minimum of 4 years of business development, practice development, marketing, research, or related analytical experience At least 2 years of experience supporting litigation practice groups within a law firm environment Knowledge of the litigation landscape and legal services industry Experience conducting market research, competitive intelligence, and business analysis Strong analytical, organizational, and project management skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong collaboration skills and a client-service-oriented approach Proficiency with Microsoft Office and business development reporting tools Only qualified candidates will be contacted.
