Setting: Short Term Acute Care Hospital, Med/Surg unit

Responsibilities
- Deliver direct nursing care to adult, adolescent, and geriatric patients with medical conditions, including oncology-related needs, in a medical/surgical setting
- Assess patient needs, develop an individualized plan of care, implement treatments, and evaluate patient progress in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team
- Administer medications, monitor responses, and document care in the electronic health record
- Educate patients and families on self-care, symptom management, discharge planning, and follow-up care
- Coordinate with physicians, therapists, and other team members to ensure safe, timely, and evidence-based care
- Maintain infection prevention practices and patient safety, recognizing and responding to changes in patient condition
- Foster a healing environment through compassionate communication and emotional support for patients and families

Requirements
- NYS Registered Nurse Licensure (active)
- BLS Certification
- ACLS Certification (AHA only)
- NIHSS Certification
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience in a Med/Surg setting
- Ability to work a 3x12 rotating schedule, including day and night shifts
