Opportunity:

RN - CVICU

Job Details:

• Float Pool position requiring travel to multiple units throughout the hospital including ER Holding/Boarding
• Shift times: 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM (days) and 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM (nights)
• Weekend rotation every other weekend
• Schedule is made 4 to 6 weeks at a time with 2 weeks advance notice provided
• Block scheduling will be considered upon request but is not guaranteed
• May be required to work 50% of holidays during contract
• No on-call responsibilities
• Patient ratios: Days 1:4-6, Nights 1:6
• Minimum 2 years of MedSurg experience required
• First-time travelers accepted
• Float to MS1 General Medical Surgical unit covering oncology patients, surgical cases (gallbladder, appendectomies, colectomies, ostomies, TURPs), and general medical patients (cellulitis, GI bleeds, CHF, COPD) as well as outpatient infusions
• Float to MS2 Ortho/Neuro unit covering observation patients (chest pain, dizziness, syncope), orthopedic cases (total hips, total knees, shoulders), and neuro cases (spine surgeries, strokes, altered mental status, TIA)
• Float to MS2 Cardiac unit covering cardiac post-procedure patients (cath, TEE, cardioversion), heart failure, chest pain, and cardiac arrhythmias
• Required skills include chest tubes, stable trach management, IV skills, port/central line management, CPAP/BiPAP/Airvo knowledge, foley insertion/care, feeding tubes, and cardiac rhythm interpretation
• Titrating drips including Cardizem, amiodarone, insulin, and argatroban required (manager approval needed if no drip experience)
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• EMR: EPIC experience required
• IV Pumps: Alaris
• Medication Dispensing: Pyxis
• May be asked to monitor patients remotely if Tele techs are short-staffed
• Scrub color: Any solid color, professional - no graphics, logos, or designs

This facility is a 101-licensed-bed hospital operating as a Level IV Trauma Center and Primary Stroke Center. The facility offers a traveler-friendly culture with a strong teamwork atmosphere and comprehensive support services including 24/7 hospitalist coverage, 24/7 respiratory therapy, HUC support on day shifts, CNA assistance, phlebotomy services, and weekday OT, PT, and ST services.
