Respiratory Therapist Opportunity

We're hiring an experienced Respiratory Therapist for a local hospital in Cedar Rapids, IA where you will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the treatment, care, and needs of patients with breathing disorders.

Minimum Requirements

• Associate or bachelor's degree from a Respiratory Therapy or Cardiopulmonary Science program.
• Current state respiratory therapist license in good standing. Iowa respiratory license highly preferred; candidates who need licensing will be considered with typical 1–3 week turnaround time.
• Active NBRC credential (National Board for Respiratory Care).
• Active AHA or ARC BLS certification.
• Active ACLS certification.
• Active PALS certification.
• Active NRP (neonatal resuscitation) certification.
• Minimum 24 months of RRT/respiratory experience in a hospital setting. CRTs will not be considered.
• Work history/resume/employment history must show 36 months of current RRT/Respiratory Therapy experience.
• EPIC EMR experience required.
• Experience with Drager ventilators, jet ventilators, and oscillator ventilators required.
• NICU experience within the last 18 months required. Level III or Level IV NICU experience within the last 15 months required.
• Must have completed a travel assignment within the past 15 months. No first-time travelers.
• Skills checklist specific to Respiratory Therapy discipline required.
• Professional reference or performance evaluation from a charge/supervisor/nurse manager/director/CNO/COO within the past 24 months preferred.
• Driver's license required (document).

Preferred Qualifications

• IDPH / Iowa Department of Public Health Respiratory Care and Polysomnography documentation preferred.
• Iowa state respiratory license preferred when available.

Assignment Details

• Shift days: Friday, Saturday, Sunday.
• Shift start times: 0700 or 1900 based on staffing and census.
• 36 hours per week.
• Holiday rotation as scheduled.
• No on-call requirement.
• Must be willing and able to float across different units throughout the hospital.
