Work Environment

This position is based onsite at a well-equipped hospital facility in Silver Spring, Maryland, recognized for its state-of-the-art resources and supportive healthcare environment. Our collaborative team consists of nurse practitioners, medical assistants, lab technicians, and physicians, all working together to provide comprehensive care. The work schedule includes four ten-hour shifts with no weekend duties, allowing for a balanced work-life integration.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient histories and physical examinations to assess and diagnose pain conditions effectively.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests and decide on treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs.
• Implement therapeutic interventions, including administering trigger point injections, joint injections, and occipital nerve blocks, with or without ultrasound guidance.
• Monitor patient responses to ongoing treatments and adjust as necessary to optimize outcomes.
• Provide patient education on pain management techniques and lifestyle modifications.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, making appropriate referrals to specialists when needed.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of OSHA, FDA, and HIPAA requirements.
• Manage incoming requests for medication refills and conduct reviews of prescription monitoring reports.
• Participate in after-hours on-call duties on a rotating basis with fellow practitioners.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The Nurse Practitioner will have the opportunity to work with a diverse range of patients, including those with chronic pain conditions related to musculoskeletal issues, neuropathic pain, post-surgical pain, and other complex pain syndromes. Our clinic focuses on delivering personalized care that not only addresses pain but also assists patients in achieving overall health improvement.

Qualifications

• Board-certified Family or Adult Nurse Practitioner.
• Doctorate in Nurse Practitioner Studies preferred.
• Current and unrestricted DEA license.
• Basic Life Support (BCLS) Certification.
• Strong proficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) systems typical in clinical settings.
• Knowledge of OSHA, FDA, and HIPAA compliance is essential.
• Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Preferred Experience

• At least one year of experience in pain management or a related healthcare specialty is preferred.
• Bilingual proficiency in Spanish is highly desirable to cater to our diverse patient population.

Compensation and Benefits
