We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Event Center Lead to provide strategic and operational leadership for a high-profile event center in the Bay Area. This role is designed for a senior-level events professional who can independently oversee a complex event environment, drive operational excellence, and elevate the quality of service and execution across the space. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in venue operations, executive events, stakeholder management, and event planning in fast-paced, high-visibility environments. This person will serve as the lead for the event center, acting as a trusted partner to internal stakeholders, guiding junior team members, and ensuring the space operates at a best-in-class level.
Key responsibilities include:
- Serve as the primary operational lead for the event center and the events hosted within the space
- Oversee day-to-day event center management, readiness, and service delivery
- Lead planning and execution oversight for internal and external events, ensuring a polished and high-quality event experience
- Manage complex venue logistics, including vendor coordination, catering, security, facilities, and overall event readiness
- Navigate permitting, approvals, compliance requirements, and external coordination as needed
- Act as the senior escalation point for event center and event-related issues
- Provide strategic guidance on event flow, guest experience, design decisions, and service standards
- Partner closely with stakeholders to align on needs, priorities, expectations, and execution plans
- Coach and elevate junior event managers, helping improve judgment, planning quality, and overall service levels
- Identify workflow gaps and implement stronger operational processes, communication rhythms, and planning standards
- Deliver regular executive-style updates highlighting priorities, risks, progress, and support needed
- Ensure a proactive, solutions-oriented approach to managing ambiguity, changes, and last-minute requests
The ideal candidate profile includes:
- 10+ years of experience in event management, event venue leadership, executive events, or complex corporate event environments
- Proven experience leading high-touch, high-visibility event operations with minimal oversight
- Strong background in venue management, complex logistics, and stakeholder-facing event delivery
- Experience navigating permitting, venue compliance, external approvals, and operational complexity
- Strong executive presence with excellent judgment and decision-making skills
- Ability to lead through ambiguity in a fast-paced, evolving environment
- Demonstrated ability to coach or guide junior team members
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Service-oriented, collaborative, calm under pressure, and low ego
- Strong understanding of premium service standards and what constitutes a polished, client-ready event experience
Preferred qualifications include:
- Experience supporting large enterprise organizations or complex corporate event programs
- Experience managing event centers, executive briefing centers, or premium multi-use venues
- Familiarity with regional venue operations and permitting processes
- Experience balancing strategic oversight with hands-on operational leadership
- Ability to build structure, improve processes, and elevate performance across an existing team
Why this role matters:
- This role is intended to bring senior leadership, operational rigor, and strategic event judgment to a high-visibility event center environment. The right person will not only strengthen and optimize day-to-day operations, but also help build a scalable foundation for future growth and expanded capabilities.
