Lab Assistant

divh2Lab Assistant/h2pOur client, a medical research company, is looking for a lab assistant for their Miramar FL location./ph3Responsibilities:/h3ulliSorting, and receiving specimens in the department./liliPerforms routine instrument maintenance on some equipment./liliPerforms laboratory tasks of centrifuging specimens, printing extra labels, recording data (temperature charts) specimen storage and retrieval./liliPreparing reagents and or media in the department./liliPreparing specimens at workstations for testing. (Including building worklists, aliquoting specimens into sample cups, checking specimens for clots and fibrin, inoculation, slide preparation)/liliPerforms QA/QC duties as assigned./liliResolves pending lists./liliFinds missing samples./liliDecontaminates work areas./liliPerforms weekly radioactive wipe tests./liliMaintains files for department records./liliChanges gas cylinders./liliFollows all PPE requirements and all safety regulations./liliUses the laboratory computer system as well as operates PCs./liliDisposes of biohazardous material./liliCompletes training and competency checklists as appropriate./li/ulh3Requirements:/h3ulliHigh school diploma or equivalent. Medical assistant training helpful.
