Accounts Payable Administrator

FSLA STATUS: Mayoral Appointment/Executive Staff. Appointment runs concurrently with Mayor. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Pay all Town invoices according to department assigned accounts, verifying appropriateness of said accounts. Verify invoices are approved by departments heads and the Mayor, and check for accuracy of charges. Manage all Town purchase orders. Responsible for vendor set up, maintenance, and issuing annual 1099’s. Maintain records of payments and purchase orders for all departments. Manage all of the Town’s electric and gas bills for Rhode Island Energy. Upload, verify, and approve banking “Positive Pay” transactions for fraud prevention. Respond to inquiries and provide historical accounts payable information. Manage special projects as assigned (ex: track union employee clothing stipend). Assist with Worker’s Compensation audit regarding Independent Contractors as well as the annual financial audit. Any and all related tasks assigned by the Finance Director/Deputy Finance Director. QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Knowledge of computer programs including, but not limited to, word processing, excel spreadsheets, and data entry systems for financial reporting. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with vendors and municipal departments. Ability to organize, multi-task, and plan work to meet deadlines. #J-18808-Ljbffr Cumberlandri
