Coastal Next Step is a compassionate, patient-centered addiction treatment practice dedicated to helping individuals achieve lasting recovery. We are currently seeking a motivated and caring Medical Assistant to join our growing team.
Position Summary

The Medical Assistant will play a vital role in supporting our providers and ensuring patients receive exceptional care in a welcoming, professional environment. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, and passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of individuals recovering from substance use disorders.
Responsibilities

• Room patients and obtain vital signs.
• Document patient information accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Assist providers during patient visits and procedures.
• Collect urine drug screens and process specimens according to protocol.
• Administer injections and medications as directed by the provider (within scope of practice).
• Coordinate patient appointments and follow-up care.
• Maintain exam rooms, medical supplies, and equipment.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA and all clinical policies and procedures.
• Provide compassionate, respectful care to every patient.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Medical Assistant certification preferred.
• Previous experience in a medical office required; addiction medicine or behavioral health experience is a plus.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with EMR systems and basic computer applications.
• Current CPR certification preferred.
