Clinical Development Medical Director-Nephrology

Vertex seeks a Clinical Development Medical Director to serve as medical lead for nephrology clinical trials across all development phases. The role involves protocol development, safety monitoring, regulatory document preparation, and cross-functional collaboration with minimal guidance.
Responsibilities
- Lead development of study protocols, investigator brochures, and clinical development plans
- Serve as medical monitor responsible for safety monitoring of enrolled trial subjects
- Prepare regulatory submissions including IND/CTA clinical sections and safety reports
- Provide scientific input on study documents including ICFs, CRFs, SAPs, and CSRs
- Represent Vertex to external medical personnel on protocol development and study conduct
Requirements
- MD, DO, or equivalent ex-US medical degree
- Board certification or eligibility in medical, pediatric, or surgical subspecialty
- 10+ years basic or clinical research experience in academic or industrial settings
- Experience designing, executing, and analyzing clinical trials
- Working knowledge of biostatistics, GCP, and clinical study design
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in matrix environment
Compensation: $240,000 - $360,000 base
