Well Extremities Rehab and Physical Therapy is seeking a dedicated and licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our dynamic team in Port Jervis, New York. In this full-time role, the PTA will work collaboratively under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist (PT) to deliver exceptional care to patients recovering from injuries, surgeries, and chronic conditions. Work Environment

The PTA will work onsite in our hospital facility located in Port Jervis, where teamwork and effective communication are paramount. The hospital setting provides a collaborative atmosphere where healthcare providers communicate closely with each other, ensuring that every patient receives the best possible care. Working hours are Monday to Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM, promoting a work-life balance while delivering essential patient services during peak hours.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement individualized physical therapy treatment plans developed by supervising Physical Therapists, ensuring fidelity to protocols that prioritize patient recovery.
• Guide patients through therapeutic exercises and functional activities, accommodating various skill levels and ensuring appropriate progression.
• Regularly monitor and document patient progress, therapy responses, and necessary modifications to treatment plans to reflect real-time patient needs.
• Educate patients on proper movement techniques, reinforce home exercise programs, and provide strategies for injury prevention to empower self-management.
• Maintain a vigilant focus on patient safety, comfort, and adherence to treatment protocols during therapy sessions.
• Collaborate with Physical Therapists, physicians, and interdisciplinary healthcare professionals to optimize patient care outcomes and develop cohesive treatment strategies.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA and insurance guidelines by maintaining accurate and timely documentation of patient information and treatment notes.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our patient population is diverse, including individuals recovering from acute injuries, major surgeries, and those managing chronic conditions. The PTA will engage with a variety of patients, from athletes seeking rehabilitation after sports injuries to seniors recuperating from hip or knee surgeries. Qualifications

• Candidates must possess an Associate's Degree in Physical Therapist Assisting from a CAPTE-accredited program.
• A valid Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license in the state of New York is required.
• Applicants should demonstrate a strong foundational knowledge of therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques, and standard rehabilitation protocols.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills are essential for effective patient education and teamwork.

Preferred Experience

• While a minimum of 2 years of experience as a PTA is required, familiarity with EMR systems like WebPT is highly beneficial.
• Prior experience in a hospital or rehabilitation center setting can contribute to a smoother onboarding process.

Compensation and Benefits

The compensation for this position ranges from $75,000 to $85,000 per year, complemented by a comprehensive benefits package.
