Role Description The Service Manager is a full-time, on-site role based at our Montgomery, AL dealership. This role oversees the daily operations of the service department, including managing service advisors, technicians, and support staff to ensure high-quality repairs and exceptional customer experiences. The Service Manager coordinates workflow, schedules service appointments, monitors repair timelines, and ensures compliance with manufacturer and company standards. They handle customer concerns, review service orders, manage warranty and recall work, and maintain accurate documentation. The Service Manager also drives departmental performance by tracking key metrics, managing budgets, supporting sales and parts collaboration, and implementing process improvements that enhance efficiency and profitability. Qualifications Candidates should possess strong automotive service management skills, including experience overseeing service operations, coordinating repair workflows, and managing warranty and recall processes. Candidates should possess customer service and communication skills, with the ability to build trust, resolve concerns, and communicate technical information clearly to guests and team members. Candidates should possess leadership and team management skills, including coaching staff, managing performance, fostering a positive workplace culture, and promoting safety and compliance. Candidates should possess organizational and problem-solving skills, including attention to detail, time management, data-driven decision making, and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks. Candidates should possess basic financial and business acumen, including understanding of departmental KPIs, budgeting, cost control, and profitability in a dealership environment. Relevant experience in automotive service departments, preferably in a dealership setting, is strongly preferred; manufacturer certification or ASE credentials are a plus. High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical, automotive, or business education is beneficial.
