Job Description:

The Registered Nurse in the Neuro ICU is responsible for providing care to patients with critical neuro diagnoses. This role requires strong neuro assessment skills, experience with ICP monitoring, and the ability to work in a Level 1 Trauma environment. The RN will be part of a team providing comprehensive care to patients undergoing complex neurological procedures and surgeries.

Responsibilities:

• Provide critical care nursing to patients in the Neuro ICU with a 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio.
• Float between all ICU floors and Tele Units as needed, maintaining a patient load ratio of 4:1 on Tele.
• Complete SIMs Lab activities focusing on Foley catheter insertion and sterile field maintenance.

Requirements:

• Experience in a Level 1 Trauma facility.
• EVD experience and 18 months of Neuro ICU experience required.
• BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Competence in handling ventilation and Phillips monitor systems.
• Must pass a DYS exam prior to acceptance (2 attempts allowed).
• Ability to work into core staff rotation for holidays and 12-hour day shifts.
• Travel experience and clean-shaven appearance for fit tests required.
