They will share responsibility for committee and department assignments including administrative, supervisory, and other functions for the good of the institution.**Responsibilities:*** Nursing faculty teach in the classroom and conduct clinical teaching.* Research and publications are expected for tenure and promotion.* Other areas of responsibility include curriculum development; participate in departmental and college-wide activities and committees, such as, grant writing, assessment, faculty development, mentoring student projects, and academic advisement.**Minimum Qualifications:*** Master's Degree in Nursing required. Doctorate in Nursing or other related area.* Must have expertise in Maternity, Pediatrics, and/ or Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing.* Strong preference will be given to candidates with didactic experience in the main area of teaching at the collegiate level.* A strong, demonstrated record of clinical expertise, experience with assessment and evaluation of student learning outcomes is required.* Expertise in primary care throughout the lifespan is required.* Must hold a current or be eligible for an unencumbered license to practice nursing in Maryland, Washington, DC, or a compact state.* Evidence of an active record of scholarship and service at the program, department and university levels preferred**Preferred Qualifications:*** Experience with total program evaluation and accreditation preferred.Interested and qualified applicants should submit a resume/CV, a letter of interest, teaching philosophy, official transcripts, along with the Bowie State University application and three letters of reference.**Additional Job Information:**Benefits include medical, dental, prescription, long-term disability, accidental death and dismemberment insurance and life insurance; paid time off for sick leave and collegial sick leave; employer-funded pension and supplemental retirement accounts.Bowie State University shall not discriminate against any individual on the basis of race, color, religion, age, ancestry or national origin, sex, sexual orientation, disability, marital status or veteran status.
