Carpentry Manager

Role Description The Carpentry Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Fairfax, VA, responsible for overseeing carpentry operations on residential remodeling projects. This role includes planning and coordinating daily job activities, assigning tasks to carpentry crews, and ensuring work is completed on schedule and in line with design specifications and building codes. The Carpentry Manager will perform hands-on carpentry work, inspect workmanship, manage materials and tools, and maintain a safe and organized job site. The position also involves collaborating with designers and other trades, communicating with project managers and clients about progress and issues, and mentoring team members to uphold quality standards and efficient work practices.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated proficiency in Carpentry and Finish Carpentry, with experience delivering high-quality residential remodeling work.
• Hands-on expertise using Hand Tools and Power Tools safely and effectively in various job site conditions.
• Strong Framing skills and knowledge of structural carpentry, building codes, and construction best practices.
• Proven ability to lead and supervise carpentry teams, including scheduling, task delegation, and performance oversight.
• Solid understanding of residential construction processes, from planning and layout through final inspection.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, construction drawings, and project specifications.
• Commitment to safety, including adherence to OSHA guidelines and company safety policies.
• Effective communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients, team members, and subcontractors.
• Reliable transportation to the Northern VA job sites and flexibility to work standard construction hours.
• Prior experience in a lead carpenter or carpentry management role;
  relevant trade certifications or vocational training are beneficial.
