Position Summary

 

The Utility Forman will direct and lead a crew of hourly workers on a project and manage all aspects of their crew's work including safety, planning, production, reporting and monitoring performance; typically reports to project superintendent.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

 

• Complete the company required or regulatory documents such as JHA, Quality Inspection Sheet, Daily Reports, Daily Productions, etc.
• Supervise, mentor and coach field employees as it relates to company policies and procedures and work requirements
• Direct work of assigned crew to meet daily schedule
• Understand production schedule and adjust daily work to meet schedule
• Perform daily forecast of crew cost and production rate and report to Superintendent as required
• Perform on-site coordination of manpower, materials, and equipment
• Request material needed for scope of work
• Read, understand, and interpret plans and specifications as required and check work according to specifications
• Maintain high level of safety and adherence to all safety policies and procedures for field employees and subcontractors
• Present safety topics at meeting when required
• Ensures workers for each task are fully qualified to perform assigned duties
• Coordinate sub-contractors onsite
• Maintains knowledge of Linkus company values and strategic plan
• Support published corporate policies
• Perform additional assignments per management’s direction

 

Position Requirements

 

• High school diploma or GED.
• Knowledge, understanding, and strict adherence of OSHA rules. Obtain OSHA 30.
• 4+ years of experience in a construction leadership role directing the efforts of others.
• 4+ years field experience.
• Ability to read and interpret written work orders.
• Knowledge of mechanical landscaping equipment.
• Basic mechanical and electrical knowledge.
• Ability to lift and manipulate heavy equipment.

 

Physical Requirements

 

• Requires frequent bending, reaching, standing, walking, squatting, sitting, pushing, and pulling of heavy objects regularly throughout the work shift
• Able to work in sun, heat, dry, dirty, and dusty conditions
• Able to lift a minimum of 75 pounds without assistance
• Requires manual dexterity to operate equipment and perform manual responsibilities

 

Work Environment:
Outside work exposed to variant weather conditions (hot, cold, rain, snow) and muddy ground conditions.
