Senior Operations Associate/Manager

Job Description

Our client is a global investment firm. They seek a Senior Operations Associate/Manager to join their Manhattan, NY office.

Responsibilities

\n
• Direct operational oversight of structured credit, repos, secondary loans, and other complex credit and fixed-income instruments
\n
• Develop and scale cash and position reconciliation procedures, including oversight of daily reconciliations, break resolution, and controls around books and records
\n
• Serve as primary liaison with fund administrators and prime brokers, ensuring accuracy in reporting, cash flows, and P&L across portfolios
\n
• Oversee fund-level and portfolio-level P&L reporting; sign off on nightly performance
\n
• Collaborate with the accounting team on entity setup and operational infrastructure
\n
• Manage and mentor junior operations team members and overseas support teams
\n
• Lead onboarding and operational readiness for new counterparties, financing agreements, and leverage facilities
\n
• Evaluate and implement new systems, processes, and tools to support fund growth and complexity
\n

Requirements

\n
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, accounting, or related field
\n
• 7-10 years of experience in fund operations, middle office, or fund administration
\n
• Hedge fund, credit manager, or private fund experience required
\n
• Experience building cash and position reconciliation processes
\n
• Understanding of fixed income products such as public and private debt, corporate bonds, CDS, structured credit, and financing facilities
\n
• Direct experience managing P&L processes and working with fund admins on NAV and allocations
\n
• Project management experience
\n
• Highly organized
\n
• Excellent communication skills and confidence working directly with senior internal and external stakeholders
\n
• Strong working knowledge of systems such as FIS VPM (or similar PMS), IVP (or similar Data Warehouse), PortfolioBI OMS, Citco suite, reconciliation platforms, CTM/ALERT, derivative systems (IceLink, Markitwire, TradeServ, CME, etc.)
