Job Summary

The Press Brake & Shear Operator is responsible for safely operating metal‐forming equipment to cut, bend, and shape steel components used in industrial fabrication. This role supports production by ensuring accurate measurements, high‐quality output, and efficient workflow in a fast‐paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate press brake and metal shear machines to cut, bend, and form steel plate and sheet metal to required specifications
• Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and fabrication work orders
• Set up machines, adjust tooling, and verify correct material thickness and dimensions
• Perform precision measurements using calipers, tape measures, protractors, and other tools
• Inspect finished parts for accuracy, quality, and conformance to tolerances
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with company and OSHA standards
• Assist with material handling, staging, and movement of steel using pallet jacks, or forklifts (if certified)
• Communicate with supervisors and fabrication team to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of jobs
• Perform basic machine maintenance and report mechanical issues promptly
• Support additional shop tasks as needed to meet production goals

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of experience operating press brake and/or shear equipment preferred
• Ability to read blueprints and follow written and verbal instructions
• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs and stand for extended periods
• Experience in metal fabrication or industrial manufacturing is a plus
• Commitment to safe work practices and quality workmanship

Work Environment and Hours

• Industrial fabrication shop
• Fast‐paced, team‐oriented environment
• Monday through Thursday 4am to 2pm (40hrs)
• Overtime may be available based on production needs
