Minimum 6 months Paraprofessional or Special Education experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Step into a rewarding contract opportunity dedicated to supporting students’ growth in a dynamic school environment near Chicago, IL. This full-time position spans the 2026-2027 school year (August through May), providing 32 hours each week, Monday through Friday. You’ll play a significant role in the educational development of students with Autism and a range of behaviors, working closely with youth ages 3 to 21 with diverse abilities.
Your expertise will be utilized both as a classroom aide and as an individual paraprofessional. Every day brings new opportunities to make a meaningful impact, collaborating with passionate educators while building positive relationships with students. Whether supporting classroom instruction or providing one-on-one guidance, your contributions will help foster an inclusive and encouraging learning environment.
Qualifications:
- Holds a valid Illinois PEL (Professional Educator License) or Paraprofessional Certification (required)
- Previous experience working with children or young adults with Autism and behavioral needs, preferred
- Adaptable and patient, with strong communication and collaboration skills
- Commitment to creating a supportive, engaging educational atmosphere
- Ability to assist students in both group and individual settings
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide assistance to classroom teachers and special education teams
- Support students in both academic and non-academic activities
- Deliver individualized attention based on student needs and IEP goals
- Foster positive student relationships and encourage independence
- Help promote safe, orderly classroom and school settings
